Pelynt Memory Cafe

Sheridan PengellyCircuit News

  • Memory Cafes are a much valued source of support for people who are experiencing memory difficulties and their carers. We are pleased that Churches in this Circuit support this work.
  • The Pelynt on the 3rd Thursday of every month, from 2.00 – 4.00pm in the Community Room at Pelynt Chapel. We provide a safe place to have fun, be creative, sit and chat with a cup of tea and home made cake! There is some form of entertainment every meeting. It is for anyone with or without memory issues and their carers.
Our first meeting was in July and since then have had 2 more meetings, with an average of 12 customers to our cafe with 8 volunteers to make the afternoon really friendly and accepting of everyone. Our entertainment has included poetry being read by one of the group, a 10 year old playing her flute ( she was very good!) and a harvest hymn sing around the organ with a few antiques to test our memories to work out what they actually were.
